The Autumn 2021 Budget set to be announced October 27th

The HM Treasury has confirmed that Chancellor Rishi Sunak will deliver the budget for Autumn 2021 on Wednesday 27th October.

The 2021 Spending Review was released by the chancellor in September which is set to conclude on October 27th along with the new Autumn Budget. The Spending review is due to outline the government departments’ resource and capital budgets from 2022/23 to 2024/25.

The review is also predicted to demonstrate how the government will deliver on its promises to the public regastind the transition to net zero across the country. This also includes ensuring innovative public services, increased opportunities, and delivering plans for growth.

Given the large impact that COVID-19 has had on the economy, Rishi Sunak has been clear that the future spending plans will all have an underlining focus of ensuring every pound of taxpayers funding is well-spent. This will ensure that the government can continue to deliver the highest-quality services to the general public at the best value. It has therefore been requested that departments identify at least 5% savings and efficiencies from their day-to-day budgets in line with these plans.
