  1. Work starts & finishes on the Forth Road Bridge (via BBC)

The bridge had been closed to all traffic since 4 December after a crack was discovered in a truss under the carriageway. The work carried out cost an estimated £2 Million pounds but was completed well ahead of schedule!

The first cars were allowed back onto the crossing at 05:20 on the 23rd after engineers welded a splint onto damaged steelwork. Heavy goods vehicles will remain banned until further work is carried out, with this scheduled for completion by “mid-February”.
