Industrial high temperature sewing threads are available to suit various different applications, with a specialisation in high temperature resistance.
There are many different high temperature sewing threads materials which all have their own individual benefits.
Kevlar-Coated Stainless Steel threads offer High temperature and flame resistance. The steel core combined with Kevlar coating is designed to facilitate easier machine sewing. PTFE Coated Glass threads offer excellent temperature resistance. The PTFE coating again facilitates easier machine sewing making them easy to work with.
Nomex threads are inherently flame retardant and heat resistant with a tough protective coating. This coating resists abrasion during the sewing operation. Kevlar threads have a good temperature resistance but it is their superb tensile strength which makes them easy to machine sew.
For lower temperature applications consider bonded Nylon or Polyester. They are tough coated threads with abrasion resistance, rot proofing and good tensile strength. Choose bonded Polyester if your have a lower temperature but have heavier duty sewing operations.
