Structural vs Feature Beams – Metalline knows the winner!

Feature Beams will never leave your dreams…

When building something on a large scale one of the most important things to watch out for is that your structure is built supported. This is often done with structural beams made out of metal to not only act as a scaffold for the workers but also a foundation for the building. Traditional steel structural beams come with 3 main problems that our aluminium feature beams have mostly eradicated.

Metalline’s Feature Beam

Firstly, while being made from aluminium is a far cheaper option than steel, making the feature beams in this material gives us a much great scope for customising size, weight and colour! Now also available in Stainless steel! Unlike most other metals, it won’t rust. Therefore, its able to be left on the outside of the building and can add to not only the structural, but also the architectural integrity.

Various details can be incorporated to meet client specifications, including mitred and welded corners, to provide visually sharp lines. Where horizontal and vertical runs meet, complex cruciform can also be created which add further aesthetic appeal to a building.
