accountants

DE Ball are a group of chartered accountants based in Telford we specialise is a whole host of businesses serves including accounts, tax returns and general accounting consultancy. In this blog we look at our role as accountants what must be done to keep accountancy a working profession for years to come.

It comes as little surprise that accountants are at the front line of every major financial issue, from the Greek debt crisis to growing risks of unpayable pensions and off-shore banking. We know that to the public, accountants have been all but invisible, through the great crash of 2008, the ongoing European debt crisis and not to mention the decades of growing financial inequality between gender, ethnicity etc.  accountants

Financial experts know the roles accountants’ play, the auditors or ‘standard-setters’ in government. But to the outside world, for some reason we do not have the reputation of being public leaders. What seems essential now is not only that accounting teachers and professional’s work together to rebuild the brand, presence and very nature of the profession, but also to create an SWOT analysis for accountants of the future.

To reclaim its traditional position of leadership, the accounting profession may need its own reckoning: an audit of its place and effectiveness in a world. In a failing financial system, who else could realign themselves and meet the demands to almost police the global financial market?

What people forget is that proximity between financial issues and the accountants who report them, is natural. It is our job job to fully analyse, predict and adjust financial plans in accordance with the business or market requirements. Therefore by default we’ll always be at the forefront of financial issues, it is how we as accountants deal with them that really matters.
