Don’t Ignore Workplace Stress

workplace stress

According to the latest injury and ill health statistics from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) workplace stress is on the rise. These statistics outline that now 1610 people per 100,000 suffer from work-related stress and mental health problems, this is the highest rate for at least the past 11 years.

Understanding and acknowledging work-related stress can go a long way to reducing this figure in the future. The symptoms of stress can be difficult to notice, as it effects everyone in different ways. However, a build-up of stress overtime can result in a range of mental and physical symptoms.

Work-Related stress is a resultant of exposure to psychosocial hazards at work. In its most severe cases, workplace stress can lead to severe impairments of physical and psychological health.

By being proactive about stress and making sure you and your workforce understand it, can go a long way to ensuring that workplace stress does not occur in your work environment. This is why it is so important to put you employee’s mental health first.
