If you haven’t already heard about it, you don’t have long left! As of 25th May 2018, UK businesses must be compliant with GDPR. This change in legislation will affect all businesses who stores or process personal data of EU residents. Individuals can expect their data to be further protected, as GDPR is designed to be more inclusive than the existing Data Protection Act 1998. Personal data includes personal data such as names and addresses, as well as sensitive personal data such as religious and political views.

ISA Support can help you make sure your business is compliant with the new GDPR legislation. They can work alongside your data controller or data processor to ensure that they fully understand the dramatic changes that are being made. Not sure if this applies to you? If you are currently compliant with the DPA, you must be compliant with GDPR 2018.

GDPR 2018 will provide more consistency in data privacy laws across Europe, and will give EU residents more control over their personal data. If your company is not compliant by 25th May you could fact huge fines. Any breaches must be reported within 72 hours to the Information Commissioners Office.
